NIKHEF engineers wanted to perform acceptance tests on the 400 V–12 V DC/DC converters they are developing for the supply voltage of DOMS in the Km3Net experiment. They needed a reliable LabVIEW application that could communicate with all instruments that were part of the test unit and gather all the relevant data from the performed tests. This data had to be stored and also had to be easily readable.
Pro Control supplied a PC application that as built in LabView of National Instruments, in order to control communication with the connected instruments. For each instrument, Pro Control developed a LabVIEW driver to activate the desired functionality and an interface with all the controls and indicators needed to control and monitor all instruments.

In addition, Pro Control provided additional functionality in the form of buttons to start and stop experiments, and made it possible to generate reports – in CSV format – based on data from the last executed experiment, which are now stored on the PC. Users only need limited technical knowledge to perform the experiments. All this makes the application extremely user-friendly.
